kwrited-dbg software package provides Read and write console output to X debug files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kwrited-dbg
kwrited-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kwrited-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kwrited-dbg *
You will get with kwrited-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
